This service selects and introduces the most suitable candidates for external directors from among our registered advisors. Background

The number of external directors of companies listed in the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange is increasing year by year, and the total number of directors is over 5,000. A role of external directors is becoming more important. Both the number of people appointed and the ratio of directors to employees in one company are increasing, and in 2019, the majority was "3 or more" and "1/3". (See the figure below)

 

However, when the Corporate Governance Code is revised in 2021, we can expect that there would be a shortage of about 1,000 independent external directors. The diversity of gender and nationality is also behind that of overseas, and if the number of concurrent external directors increases, the effectiveness may decrease.

1.    Candidate registration

All applicants for registration are registered 
after having a face-to-face interview with our employees. In order to meet the various needs of our customers, we will hear about their achievements and personality regardless of age or gender. 

 

2.     Proposal 
From more than 7,000 registrants, we will investigate market data trends and introduce multiple candidates according to customer needs. 

 

3.     Selection 
In some cases, you will meet with a multiple number of candidates. You will evaluate through interviews, such as what kind of thoughts a candidate has about management based on his/her past experiences and whether there are synergies with your company. 

 

4.     Decision / inauguration 
If a candidate passes the interview, you will be asked to present your terms. Once the agreement is reached, a candidate will be officially inaugurated with a final resolution at the general meeting of shareholders.
